Hey everyone! Quick update: We're shipping the Deadman as fast as we can - we've shipped through backer #101 and are on pace to ship 30+ this week and 50+ next week (we're ramping). All other rewards have been shipped, so we're getting near the end!
If you're in the 200's, DON'T FRET!! Many backers did not order a Deadman, so just because you're #200 does NOT mean there are 99 people ahead of you. At our current pace, we're projecting to have all of the Kickstarter Deadman orders shipped in the next 3-4 weeks, so it's not much longer for anyone.
We're working with Blue Ridge to get these made as fast as possible, and they're doing an amazing job of speeding up while still delivering the high level of quality we both expect.
We are so grateful for your support - you all are awesome!

Just Ship It!
This week was VERY productive! As promised last week, we set out to ship all of the add-ons and non-Deadman Kickstarter rewards. We did it! We blew through over 250 hand-written cards, packaged over 150 Murder Sporks, and shipped more boxes than our trusty daily-drivers could hold. Watch your mailboxes and front doors this week - it's Christmas in Overlander's Land! (Ok, that was a little lame.)
Due to Overland Expo East, manufacturing of the Deadman was put on hold this week. Production will resume next week and we'll continue shipping Deadmen directly from Blue Ridge Overland Gear.

We can't tell you how excited we are to get the Deadman (and all the other awesome gear !) out the door and into your hands! We're hard at work, wrapping up testing and production details. Here's the latest!
One of the strongest in the business!
Yep, you heard that right: one of the strongest in the industry!! We've been testing the heck out of the Deadman's arms & legs, taking what we learn and improving the design, to scrape out every last bit of strength from these straps. When a strap is assembled (i.e. sewn) it loses some of its strength. You may recall seeing some manufacturers call out different Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) ratings for "materials" and "assembly" - this is what they're talking about. The industrial sling industry finds a 20-25% loss in MBS from assembly "acceptable." We don't. We believe a 19,600lb strap shouldn't have its MBS reduced to ~15,000lb after assembly... not if it's well-constructed! So we've spent a lot of time testing and working through many different variations to find a way to manufacture our patent pending double-loop splices with over 17,000lb MBS *after* assembly. That makes us one of the strongest in the market! Go ahead, look around. Good luck finding a 2" strap significantly stronger. (Oh yeah, the Deadman sports TWO of these badass straps, too...!)
Heading to the Blue Ridge Mountains
Next week we fly out to Virginia, home of Blue Ridge Overland Gear, to get a hands-on update on the progress of our friend & manufacturing partner. Things are well underway - they've been tooling up, ordering raw materials, and getting the production line ready for the Deadman, with physical production beginning in a few short weeks. We'll be sure to post a few pictures & videos on our Instagram & Facebook pages of the trip and keep you all updated on the progress.
Shipping Update
Currently, we're still on track to begin shipping the Deadman in late August. Our Krazy Beaver Murder Sporks are due to arrive in about two weeks and will head straight to powder coating to ensure they're also ready to ship on time along with your Deadman. We'll be shipping Kickstarter rewards by backer number, those of you who backed us early are first in line!
For those of you who only ordered a t-shirt, hat, patch, etc (and did not order a Deadman or Murder Spork), your orders will be shipping as early as next week. We've got these made up and ready to roll!
